Good Deeds by Kathryn Moon

Nötchka Uumian, solo-scavenger and pilot, only came to Bandalier for business. But when her first ever heat cycle hits, she has two choices: get off the planet or find somewhere safe to ride out the heatburns. Determined to never end up mated and trapped in a kitchen, she heads into the Droid district. You can’t mate if the other person isn’t an organic right?

Low on funds and preparing for weeks of sexual stupor, Nötchka finds herself in the Nuts in Bolts, a nearly deserted Cozy House with a handful of older models, two of which aren’t even servicing. But the owner, Proto model Avan-8, is willing to trade sex for repairs and Nötchka is desperate. Everything will stay simple with droids… or it would if she didn’t end up liking them all so much. If she can just make it through her heat without too many feelings, avoid the pack of Dendärys males that seem determined to catch her, and figure out why women are going missing, it will all work out.

It’s definitely not vekking working out.

Good Deeds is a full length, insta-burn, standalone, reverse harem romance novel, starring a fiesty heroine and five fritzing hot android heroes.

I am not a huge fan of straight-up smut. Like, obviously I enjoy some of it–look at what I read 😂–but if it doesn’t have some sort of story, I’d rather not read it. Ms. Moon has such a way of writing smut with a story. She somehow manages to create these stories with super sexy scenes while also having incredibly compelling characters. This one was a little different because the male love interests are all androids–but they’re all technically out of date and they each have a different “specialty.”

The North Wind by Alexandria Warwick

Lush. Dark. Romantic. Introducing a newly reimagined tale written in the vein of Beauty and the Beast and Hades and Persephone.

Long before civilization, there were the gods. And before the gods, there was the earth, the celestial bodies, and air given flesh. They are the Anemoi—the Four Winds—and they have been banished to the four corners of the world.

Wren of Edgewood is no stranger to suffering. Her parents are gone. Survival is all she knows. For three hundred years, the land known as the Gray has been encased in ice, surrounded by a great barrier called the Shade, which protects the townsfolk from the Deadlands beyond.

But day by day, the Shade weakens.

Only one thing can stop the Shade’s fall: a mortal woman taken captive across the barrier, bound in wedlock to the dark god who reigns over the Deadlands. He is the North Wind, the Frost King, an immortal whose heart is said to be as frigid as the land he rules.

And the time has come for the Frost King to choose his bride.

Absolutely incredible book! I love the writing style and the world-building and the storyline (I’m a huge Beauty and the Beast fan, so this was right up my alley). This was a suuuuuper slow build, with tons of pining and admiring glances when they think the other isn’t looking, there’s the “only one bed” trope, the “I came to kill you but I can’t bring myself to” trope (that’s a thing, right? lol), and did I mention the pining? Ugh. I just loved this book so much.

Red’s Revenge by Ava Hall

He came in the dark of night to tear my family apart.

Somehow I escaped the storm of teeth and claws, only to find myself alone in a world where young women like me get eaten alive. Literally and Figuratively.

With blades on my hips and my wolf at my side, I’m no longer that same little girl, scared and alone in the woods. Now, I’m just as big and bad as he is, and I’m out for blood.

But as much as I’d like to be a lone wolf, the men of Grimm City keep luring me in. There’s Peter, my first love, a boy who became Neverland’s fiercest crime boss. Then there’s Robin Hood, the scarred, ruthless rogue with a boyish grin.

And finally him, the stranger at my doorstep who wants revenge as much as I do.

As they battle over a heart that can’t allow itself to love, I have my own war to win.

And I’ll kill anyone who stands in my way.

Super fun and unique take on fairy-tale retellings! Among the different fairy-tale worlds that are represented here, there’s Little Red Riding Hood; Peter Pan; Robin Hood; Sleeping Beauty; Jack, Be Nimble; and more. I’m not sure how the author managed to put so many fairy-tales into one story, let alone did it seamlessly. Fantastic book, super sexy scenes, swoon-worthy men, and a totally kick-ass heroine.

Choosing Theo by Victoria Aveline

Being kidnapped by aliens is only the start of Jade’s problems. Thankfully, her rescuers, an alien race known as the Clecanians, are willing to protect her, but she has to stay on their planet for one year and respect the rules of their culture–including choosing a husband. Jade refuses at first but decides to play along until she can find a way back to Earth.

Theo, a scarred mercenary who prefers a life of solitude, is stunned when Jade selects him as her husband. After years of being passed over, he never imagined he would be chosen and neither did anyone else. Only one explanation makes sense…the curvy enticing female must be a spy, and Theo’s determined to break her cover using any means necessary.

As Jade and Theo are forced to spend time together, their chemistry becomes undeniable. But neither can afford to bring love into the equation, especially since Jade seems determined to go home. After all, she can’t possibly stay here, right?

I loved this one. I’m not super into sci-fi romance, but I’m trying to get a little more familiar with it because I’m discovering I actually like the subgenre quite a bit, lol. Anyway, this was an awesome read. The hero is “scarred,” gruff, and super misunderstood (which I love!) and the heroine starts out scared, confused, and desperately wanting to return to Earth…but she ends up turning into quite the loveable character. I greatly enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series!

Guardian by Lexie Winston

Joining the Collectors Division was my only goal once the orphanage washed their hands of me at the age of twelve.

Unruly and quick to anger, I was taken in by an academy instructor until I was old enough to attend myself. With love and understanding I thrived, and it became my mission to be the best Guardian the Collectors Division had ever seen. I couldn’t

wait to run the Gauntlet and join a team.

Little did I know what fate had in store for me.

Guardian is a reverse harem novel and contains MM and FF. Not recommended for those under 18

Interesting story! BA heroine, heroes who have a history with the heroine, a sort of Hunger Games-like tournament. The characters are all different and fun and there were plenty of sexy interactions through the series! (warning: there is some sword crossing and FF in the series, so if that’s not your thing, move on)

Trigger warnings: (can’t remember)
Heat level: (ahhh…I can’t remember how steamy the first book is. It gets quite steamy later on, though!)

Tail ‘Em by Sam Hall

Never tell them what we are, Shannon’s grandmother had always said.

You wouldn’t think, in today’s day and age with its appetite for TV psychics and mediums that being able to psychically communicate with animals was much of a cause for paranoia, but it’s hard to throw off the wisdom of countless generations just like that.

Rather she works as a faux-Reiki healer in her local veterinary clinic, loving the impact she can have on sick or anxious animals, but increasingly worried that one day people were going to see past the New Age façade she’d constructed.

With good cause.

When men from the newly created Capricorn Institute bring in some of their guard dogs for ‘behavioural modification’, Shannon gets disturbing glimpses of what’s happening in the facility built in the newly renovated prison on the hill, something she’s about to get up close and personal with.

Inside she meets creatures she’d thought she’d only ever seen in a zoo, but they don’t respond to her psychic overtures like a normal animal would.

Because they aren’t.

Beautiful, wild, Shannon’s about to find out the truth about the Big Bad Wolf and all of his apex predator friends. These sexy shifters track her every movement, memorise her scent, because even from behind bars, they’re hunting her. Physically, psychically, these men will use whatever tactics they can to get what they want: her.

Join Shannon as she tries to find out the secrets of the Capricorn Institute and faces threats to her safety and her heart.

This is book one in a brand new super steamy reverse harem series from the author of the Pack Heat series. If you love hot, why choose romance with shifters, you’ll love Tail ‘Em.

Great book. The chemistry between the heroine and her first mate is incredible and the sexual tension is so swoony. I loved it. The storyline is hard to read at times because of the captivity, but the ending makes it worth it. Though, beware: the ending will piss you off. lol. Also a pretty big cliffy.

Spoiler
I’m not a fan of the surprise pregnancy trope, so that part was meh for me, but the story is so good that I can get on board with it in book 2.

First Addition by Kelsey Soliz

I was so close to getting everything I wanted, an internship with my Uncle, an officer with the special-ops team.

If it weren’t for a stupid boy that had to go and make me angry, causing me to turn a certain part of his anatomy purple and sparkly, I wouldn’t have accidentally revealed to my family what I really was. What I had been hiding.

Now, my father is making me attend the school he headmasters, a stuck-up elite academy that will never take a bodysmith like me seriously.

Fate may have cursed me with six mate spots to fill, but that doesn’t mean I need to tell everyone my true purpose for being at the academy.

If I can survive the other petty circulators at the school that think they’re queen bee, and hide my own status from everyone, I just might be able to find the six men that I don’t really want.

They might think I’m inconsequential, but I’m determined to carve out my own happiness, no matter what it takes.

Second Glances by Kelsey Soliz

I thought having six mate marks was more than I could handle. And then Cyrus and Dar came along and told me that I was theirs, too. Male conduits, looking for their mate for over a hundred years. No pressure, right?

I thought that being someone else’s fated meant everything would be easy, that our connection would be instant. But that theory doesn’t take into account the life they’ve led before finding me. Am I really enough?

Then there’s the mystery guy I’ve been chatting to online- I don’t know who he is but he seems perfect for me. My other mates are encouraging me to finish my circuit so that I’m safe from the monsters that want my magic, but I have to walk that fine line between finding who I’m meant for and making sure we have a connection and that they respect me. And that being with them won’t alter the respect I hold for myself.

Things are getting crazy. Can we make it through?
