I know I've touched on it briefly in previous posts, but this time the depression and anxiety was so high, I backed out of social media altogether. It wasn't exactly intentional, but I can't help but think my mind subconsciously knew I needed a break. I also realized that while I can be super understanding and empathetic for others, I have an extremely difficult time being kind to myself. 😣 So, that's something I'm learning how to do. Are you a big fan, don't care for it, or somewhere in between?⁣ ⁣ ⁣ I just finished reading Be Your Mistake by Sariah Skye, an M/M romance between a huge rock star and a tattoo artist. What are some things that you love or bring love to your life?⁣ ⁣ ⁣ I'm doing something a little different this year and I made a graphic representing some of the things I love (going clockwise starting at the top left: coffee, video games, writing, my faith, books, TV, my marriage, music). Last year was a huge blow to my mental health and while I'm probably about 80% better now than I had been, obviously dealing with anxiety and depression is a chronic thing and I still have my ups and downs. Add on to that that I got sick around Christmas and am JUST NOW starting to get over it, I'm a little behind where I was hoping I would be.⁣ ⁣ So, just know, I'm still around, but basically, I'm trying to get my sh!t together, lol. If you've sent me a message and I haven't responded, that's partly due to everything going on and partly because apparently I am just not receiving notifications from IG or FB anymore. ✨ What three things are you grateful for today?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The question today is brought to you by one of my favorite reads of the year, Unexpected by Jenna Hartley. This is something Preston asks Sophia--the little girl he nannies--every night before bed. I absolutely love this idea and I want to work to implement this practice into my life. I don't have kids, but I think it's an awesome reminder to take a step back and remember to be thankful for the blessings in our lives.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Speaking of Unexpected... My review is FINALLY up! It took me F O R E V E R to finish up my graphics because I couldn't find my mental image of Preston.
