Too much, too soon.

At least, that's how I should feel about my world being turned inside out in the span of a few short months.

And, yet, I can't bring myself to regret any of my choices. If I hadn't returned to Moss Harbor, I never would have uncovered the truth about my mother's death. Or allowed Hayle, Tristin, and Leo Sharpe back into my heart.

Except, now that I've found love, I'm not sure I have the power to hang onto it.

Sharpe family secrets continue to unravel, threatening everything I've built with the brothers. In the end, our determination to stick together may be the only thing that keeps us from falling apart.

Intro
I always have a bittersweet feeling toward the ending of a series I’ve loved. While I was so excited to finally unearth all the secrets within the pages of the Lonely Souls series, I am so sad to be saying goodbye to these characters.

The Heroine
Thea is such a cool character. She’s always been a fierce and independent woman, but I felt like she truly grew into her own in this book. She finally learned how to open up her heart and love and be loved the way she and her men deserve.

Part of what I love so much about Thea is that she isn’t a hardass, but she is a badass. She’s so strong and courageous, but her personality doesn’t make me want to hide in a corner from the harshness of it, lol. She’s loyal and empathetic and I felt like I could relate to her in a lot of ways.

The Heroes
Hayle, Leo, Tristin have gone through some major character changes in this series and I loved every second of it. I honestly don’t have anything more to say than they’re incredible and this is one of the few series where I don’t have a favorite by the end.

Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with how they each ended up in this series and while I’m going to miss them like crazy, I can’t wait to revisit them on one of my–I’m sure–many re-reads <3

Bullet Points
*FINALLY getting the Hayle and Thea love I’ve been dying for. Sure, he’s kind of got his head up his ass for part of the book, but dang, once they’re together…it’s amazing.
*The Vincent arc in this series comes to fruition in this book, and all I can say is, wow. I didn’t see most of that coming and it kinda blew my mind.
*I love Susan and Gerard so much. They’re such an adorable couple and so sweet to Thea and the guys. I loved their interaction <3
*Petra is a fricken bomb ass best friend. She’s seriously one of the coolest girls ever and I would love to have her as a friend!

Conclusion
There’s a point in this book where I looked down to see I still had an hour or so left and I had no idea where it was going to go from there. Everything seemed like it was where it was supposed to be and I had no clue what else was left. Welp, it turned out there was quite a bit to the story left and Autumn, being the literary genius she is, managed to pack on TWO MORE twists that left me with my jaw on the floor. Honestly, I don’t know how the woman does it, but she always makes such a great story come to life and just when you think it should be over, she surprises you. AMAZING.

I’m so beyond pleased with how this series ended and I’m hoping she revisits this world with other characters because I’m dying to know if Tobias finds someone, I want to know Violet’s whole story, and I would love for Petra to get her own story. I have no idea if any of these ideas are viable, but a girl can dream, lol.

If you haven’t started this series yet, then please do! It’s so incredibly good, and if you like reverse harem, then I highly doubt you’ll be disappointed. As always, if you read one of the books I’ve reviewed, please come back and tell me what you thought!

Happy reading!

I am a huge fan of Autumn Reed and honestly have loved each of her books. Just when I think I love one series more than the other she comes out with a new one.

With Witless she concludes the Lonely Souls series and I have to say she did an amazing job of tying things up. As usual with one of her books there are some twists and turns that you will not see coming. Which in my opinion
is a good thing, who like to know the way the story will end before you start.

Another thing I enjoyed that Autumn did was adding the Wizard of Oz theme here.I normally do not like retellings too much but it could also be the writer that make sit enjoyable.

I am going to miss Thea, Leo, Tristan and Hayle. Their journey was not an easy one and it was emotional at times, but as always it was well worth the ride.

Mind-blowing

This Series took me by storm. The way it was masterfully built, having these little clues and teasers to leave us guessing as to what happened to Thea's mom, kept me on my toes while reading it. I do love a great murder mystery and this series delivered.

Aside from that, I was in awe with the way the author developed her plot and characters with a wink towards The Wizard of Oz. Her attention to details and the way she made it entirely her own with the twists and turns was a testament to her writing skills. It reminds me again of how much I adore a well plotted story.

Witless delivered some twists I definitely didn't see coming, but I loved every moment I was surprised by them. I can't wait to read similar stories from this author, because this was definitely my favourite work by her so far.

Absolutely my favorite book of this series!!! I loved it. From the cover of the book to the very last page, it was wonderful. There were so many twists and turns that made what I anticipated to happen so much better! Hayle turned out quite alright. He had a lot to go through in this book, but being witless quickly changed for him. He learned his lesson and gained Thea and two brothers, who will be there for him unconditionally. I loved this series!! It was such a different take on a The Wizard of Oz retelling that it made it seem like a whole new world and super fresh. I enjoyed it! I love how sassy Thea is and and how mischievous and funny and witty her guys are. I’ll miss these characters!!! I highly recommend this book and series!

WOW can honestly say, I have never felt more complete, when finishing the last book in a series!! Autumn wrapped this book jump in a beautiful package (story). So many thing happened and I loved it all. Love, action, suspense, family, closure, secrets revealed, (wow we're they revealed)!! I won't be left wondering what the future looks like for Tristin, Thea, Leo and Hayle, because she wrapped this up on a perfect pretty bow and I will forever smile when I think about this updated Wizard of Oz telling, it was beautiful, ingenious and amazingly written!! I will definitely be recommending this one left and right, so don't wait start the journey as soon as you can!!!

Loved loved loved how this trilogy ended.
Autumn took the Wizard of Oz and made it contemporary with suspense and lots of steam.
Definitely one of my favorites of hers. Thea and her guys are just superb.

Wow. Just wow. I did not see some of that coming! The author did so well with wrapping this story up. Every time I caught the WoO connection I would laugh. I was sad to finish it but happy I was able to experience it.

This is a great ending to this story. These characters have grown, matured and opened up so much in the book. They really show who they truly are and healed their relationships. A lot of revelations happened, most I had no idea were going to happen and made me gasp out loud. Witless truly has it all and was a great ending for these characters.

The end

I enjoyed the story and the characters. The two stars are because: 1) This is a reverse harem series but the harem isn’t established until the third and final book. We don’t really get the chance to enjoy their relationship. 2) Even though I enjoyed the series I feel like book 3 was pretty slow for most of the book. Maybe books 1 & 2 could have been a little longer and contained the whole story instead of stretching it to 3 books.

Thea's life has been in turmoil since the storm swept in destroying her home and sending her back to Moss Harbor and the Sharpe brothers. Leo, Tristan, and Hayle were her everything once and now they are quickly becoming the center of her world again. But she can't forget why she came back. She needs answers about her mother's death. The saying, "Be careful what you wish for" has never been more true. The secrets are all coming to light but once they do, nothing will be the same. Not everyone wants to hear the truth.

I've said often Autumn Reed is one of my favorite authors because her writing is intelligent. This twist on The Wizard of Oz is so clever. The comparisons were sometimes clear, sometimes subtle, sometimes humorous, always entertaining. Moss Harbor and Kansas are the backdrops. The characters Dorothy (Thea), Leo (Lion), Tristin (Tinman), Hayle (Scarecrow) all exhibit character growth endearing them to us as the readers. The Wicked Witch, Good Witch, the Wizard, and Toto too are all represented but no spoilers. The journey down the yellow brick road is the mystery of Thea's mother's death. And the message of love and home is delivered in the end. To get there we needed this final book, Hayle's story. His intelligence has been overshadowed by his desire to win the approval of his father and his lack of confidence. He's never felt equal to his brothers or felt his place in the family was as secure or important. Like his brothers, he needed Thea's return to figure out his own mind and understand what really matters. Like its original inspiration, this story and these characters have so much depth. It's an introspective journey that is rewarding and ends with love. And a fabulous pair of shoes.

Was slightly nervous once I figured out this book series was loosely based on The Wizard of Oz and I do have to admit a lot of the references were very cheesy and slightly unnecessary. However, the plot line was great so I overlooked some of the more cringy references.
What was mostly likely meant to be the biggest shock of the series felt predictable maybe it was because of the Wizard of Oz or maybe it was just obvious regardless I’m not sure but it definitely didn’t pack much shock value.
I found the dad to be unredeemable. Near the end of this book he explains a lot of his decisions and makes it seem like most of his decisions were for the benefit of the family. However, I’ll never get over what he did to Tristan that was the one larger decision they didn’t try to put a reason behind or spin into something else.
I also felt like there were slightly too many side character in this book that I’m left wondering where everyone was at during the 4 year flash forward. I know we are getting violets story which includes Jude, Lincoln and Tobias which will hopefully clear up the lingering questions with those characters. But where’s Petra in four years did it work out with her and Levi? Why weren’t any of the side characters at the opening at the end of the book?

This series was a blast to read. I loved the take on the Wizard of Oz (which is one of my favorite movies!) with the twist of a "who-done-it." The FMC, Thea, is strong in Witless, you can tell she has grown a lot since Spineless and her inner strength is something I find admirable. Her relationship with Leo and Tristin continues to develop but it seemed like Hayle is still an outsider in Witless. There are circumstances that contribute to his standoff-ish behavior except I was hoping that his issues would have been resolved earlier than they were. I feel like we missed out a bit on what his and Thea's relationship would have been like had he not been stubborn.
Overall though, the book moved at a very steady pace. I was not bored at any time and I was grateful that we had all of the lingering questions answered by the end. The murder mystery piece added an extra element to the story which keeps you engrossed in trying to piece everything together. If you enjoy a book that incorporates the Wizard of Oz with a modern twist, then I highly recommend reading this series! It was quite enjoyable, the characters are well-rounded and very fun!

Wow!! I was super happy with book 3 of Autumn's Lonely Souls RH series and really thought she did a phenomenal job rounding our this Wizard of Oz inspired RH story!! I think so obstacles/walls were finally taken down/breached, and we got to see he relationships really grow and develop, which I couldn't get enough of. We got our answers finally revealed (I totally didnt see some of them coming, I had to rewind a couple pages as like a double take haha). Loved how Autumn weaved this story together, the pace she set, and how she made the storyline so gripping. The little nuisances/ connections to the Wizard of Oz (one of my all-time favorite stories) was great, put a smile on my face when I saw those ❤️

I think Book 3 was my favorite of this series, I have no constructive feedback at all! I hope this series will be made into audiobooks, but if not I will be adding some paperbacks to my Christmas list for my family. I think Scarlett XOXO still holds the top spot in my heart of Autumn's books, but this series might be giving The Collectors series a run at spot #2 haha.

FINALLY HAYLE AND THEA GOT TOGETHER TOO, Um o just hope the genes from Hayle’s mother didn’t transfer to him. But it’s seems that it did not. I thought that by the epilogue she would be either married to all of them or pregnant but it wasn’t that, they proposed to her with 3 rings fused together and each of them had their own meaningful connection with Thea, the ring I mean. I loved Hayle’s character development in this book, how he stood up for Thea, how he looked after her but when he made that deal I loved him so much and was by far my favourite character, I hated Vincent at the start because of his manipulation and secrets are what caused so much trouble in the first place but when he found Glinda everything in him changed and at first I thought he married Glinda just to be another one of his many wives and turns out she was preggers and they have Amber and Amber was named after Thea’s moms name, her name was also Amber and she’s cute and an extravert from what I’ve read. I rate this book a 5/5 and the smut was all at the ending but it was amazing so also a 5/5, no comment.

This has so many twists and turns throughout it that I kinda didn't fully see coming but it sure made for a great ending to Thea, Leo, Tristin and Hayle's story. The only thing I wished there was more of was Vincent, only because when he had his "Wizard of Oz" pull back the curtain moment I felt like most of it was glossed over and then we kinda forget about him which I felt didn't give much closure regarding his character and all that he did throughout the series. The one thing I was really happy with though was how much the guys and even Thea grew from the beginning to the end, they all became responsible, loving adults who were able to rely on each other having their back instead of drifting apart farther than they were. Overall I really did enjoy this series and this book was the perfect ending, I really can't wait to read Violet's book next.

Very Good!

I had a feeling I would like this series due to the author but I enjoyed it more than anticipated. I was pleasantly surprised that there was not any bully elements within the story. Don't get me wrong, some of the characters have moments where they deserve a solid punch to the junk (haha) but there wasn't the relentless cruelty for cruelty's sake. All of the main characters have major baggage which was cleverly tied in with the characters from the Wizard of Oz. I thought the little references and elements were so creative without it feeling completely derivative. I did guess what happened in regards to the main mystery in the first book. Though I would have preferred to be surprised, ultimately it didn't diminish my enjoyment. I would absolutely recommend this series.

This contemporary reverse harem romance series was such a comforting read. It didn't have major highs and lows of emotion but rather an even-keel story that was super relaxing for me to read with everything that has been going on in America during the time I read the trilogy. I loved the little homages to Wizard of Oz (the story is NOT paranormal) and the fact that it took place primarily in my home state. Thea's relationship with the Sharpe brothers played out at different paces, which I loved, and though it wasn't high-heat overall, it was very romantic. I also loved the overall story between the brothers themselves. There are some minor characters that are getting their own RH book soon, and that makes me super happy.

I’m sad it’s over

I honestly loved this series. I enjoyed the story and the suspense and the journey to these lonely souls truly finding one another.

— Witless: Lonely Souls Book 3 by Autumn Reed
This book was magic. Maybe because I feel like I needed the closure and getting it was beautiful, but I loved this book the most.
These characters letting their walls down and letting love in, simply magic. I can’t imagine a better ending.
I was pleasantly shocked a couple of times, and about to lose my mind a couple, too. But Autumn Reed pulled it all together so effectively.
I look forward to Petra’s book. I can’t wait to see how she handles those guys!

The third and final book in Autumn Reed's Lonely Souls series picks right up where we left off in Book 2. I think Miss. Reed might have a thing for cliffhangers... :P I really enjoyed Witless because it wrapped up a lot of loose story lines that were presented in both prior books. There are little bits and pieces of original Wizard of Oz thrown in, but the book remains unique in its own right. I especially loved how the book ends and gives us a look into the future. Too many books end right at the resolution of the story but here we were provided with a little more than that, which is really nice to be able to read after becoming invested in the characters.

This is a third in a series so reading in order is a must. This is a retelling of the Wizard of Oz. Never read the book and only ever saw the movie and the children TV show. Even though it's a retelling of a well known tale this felt like a story of it's own and it's well done by Autumn Reed. A wizard with words I can tell you. The brothers each have their own trials and tribulations but in the end Thea makes them so much stronger and I love that. So thank you for writing an awesome book!

A lovely conclusion to this series. I honestly was surprised how things turned out in comparison to how they started on the series. I loved that the final book paid tribute several times to the Wizard of Oz themes. Thea gets everything she deserves and the boys do as well. Didn’t expect the plot twist with the Sharpe patriarch, but worked really well. There were a few parts in the book that seemed to be a bit dry, but it is all worth it and makes sense that it’s in this book. We should be seeing an exciting standalone soon! Overall, a lovely end to a feel good series.

Loved this Series

What a great ending to this trilogy. The conflicts did not end how I thought they would. I was definitely surprised by the outcome. I did suspect Lily from the beginning, but did not suspect any of the reasons for Vincent’s involvement.
Thea and all 3 brothers solidified their relationship and I enjoyed reading about the journey they took to get there. Every chapter kept me wanting to read more. Definitely recommend this series. Off to read the spin-off with Violet!

I've read some books from this Author in the past and loved her other RH series so I downloaded through KU and dove into this new twisted version of Wizard of Oz!

The Lonely Souls Trilogy was a great over all series! The Sharpe brothers will definitely be the unforgettable trio for a long time. Lots of mystery, angst and a sassy heroine to boot so hang on because this series will take you on a whirlwind! You never know where you will end up at the end!

**mature rating, wasn't expecting some of the scenes to be as explicit but overall a great read**

All the feels!

Oh my goodness! This book was everythingggggg! I absolutely loved this series so much! It was filled with trials and twists and turns and betrayals but also so much love, laughter and happiness. I could not stop reading it. I blasted through it within a few hours. And that ending was freaking beautiful 😭 I’m so sad it’s over but I absolutely loved the journey with Thea and the boys!

So good

In more ways than one. This book is light and sweet full of love, but it has a story plot and mystery and hot hot swoon worthy males. Totally worth a read. Nice change from all the dark romance and bully romance RH books out there. Don’t get me wrong those are some of my favorites, but it is nice to through in one like this to break up some of the depravity of those stories. Can’t wait to hear Violets story next 😍

Definitely a must read

This book was the perfect ending to this series. Questions were answered, mystery was solved, their relationship fell into place and things just happened in the way it felt right for all characters. I enjoyed this book and the series as a whole. This series was the first series I have read by Autumn Reed and I loved it. I will definitely be reading more books by Ms. Reed.

Cute Series

Super cute series that is the story of a shipping magnate, his three sons and their almost “step sister,” Thea. Family history and mystery set the backdrop for Thea’s return to Moss Harbor to rejoin her “almost” step-brothers to sort out the past and find their future. Having left Moss Harbor at the age of 10....Thea returns home to solve the mystery of her mother’s death and put the pieces of the Sharpe family back in order.

Wham Bahm. A lot of curves thrown in this book. I think the ending needed a little more to it, but overall I like where things ended. A lot of answers are here, but I can't help feel like the story line to Tobias ends too early. However, I hear there is a spin off that includes Tobias. Overall the series was good and seemed pretty attentive. There were lows and highs. I can't say that it was a series that I couldn't put down, but I am definitely happy I read it!
