Thistle Cove #3

Lies We Tell

Rate this book
No One Is Safe in Thistle Cove.

At least not the girls.

Especially not the girls.

One is already dead, one is missing, and now I have a stalker who wants me to know I'm next.

I think I know who it is.

But I may be wrong. Either way, lives will be destroyed.

At least I have Finn, Ezra and Ozzy on my side.

Or at least I think I do.

Lies We Tell is part three of the Thistle Cove series, a dark, thriller, why-choose, romance.

Here’s what this book is about:”No One Is Safe in Thistle Cove. At least not the girls. Especially not the girls. One is already dead. One is missing. And now I have a stalker who leaves me things in my bedroom. Who sends me notes. I think I know who it is. But I may be wrong. At least I also have three of Thistle Cove’s boys by my side. Or at least I think I do.”

I borrowed this book for free from Kindle Unlimited. I enjoyed this book. I’m looking forward to finding out how this series ends.

Kenley couldn't let Rose's disappearance go. She didn't believe the official story, she discovered Rose's secret life, and now she may be in danger. Powerful men have taken notice and are angry. She has a stalker. She's whispered about in the school hallways. She also has three guys who believe her, support her, and want to keep her safe. But this is Thistle Cove. Is any young girl safe?

This book took a dark turn that I didn't totally expect. Sugarbabies, the Dollhouse, the mature male predators all make for a fantastic read. The tension is sky-high, the suspense kept me turning the pages as fast as I could read. And at the same time, the romance/hotness level escalated. Kenley got in over her head this time. Again. I understand completely not being able to let the mystery go but she takes too many risks. Speaks up when she should stay silent. Keeps secrets when she should confide. It's worrisome. Finn stepped up, his sincerity came through. I still need more from him (I sound like a broken record, I know). I need to see him choose Kenley when the time comes. Ezra struggled this time out. Best intentions, terrible results. He's so damaged and emotionally fragile. I find him irresistible. Ozzy takes a little bit of a backseat because his personality isn't as big as the other two. Still, he held up better than I expected. Being true blue is not a negative. His steadfastness makes him stand out. Alice was the surprise character in the book. Wow, just wow. Her forceful nature stole scenes and added an extra level to the book. And I am amazed that Rose still has the hold over this group and the school like she does.

What I love the most about this series, however, is the uncertainty, the unknown. I still don't know which one of the men to fear the most. Maybe they are equally dangerous. Then that ending... I can't wait for more. I am scared about the offer and the involvement of certain players. Another nice twist!

I'm STILL in shock about the HUGE reveals in this book. Jaw officially still on the floor!!! Kenley deals with a huge amount of stuff in this book! Be prepared as this is not a happiness and light read. Alice is definitely NOT the person or friend she thought she was, and starts to have a serious personality change. Something is definitely going on. Could Rose possibly be alive? Is Kenley still in danger now that Jacqueline 's mother is in jail? It seems there may very well be many more layers to the mystery of Rose and what happened. The same goes for who is behind BD and the Sugar Daddy account. Just when KK and the guys think they've discovered one thing, something else comes to light. This book had my mind spinning at the end....and it seems there is a link to yet another series by Angel Lawson in SPARROWOOD ACADEMY. How will these two series connect? Wait and see, as there's is a familiar face making an appearance at the end of LIES WE TELL. Could the danger be more than they originally thought? Something huge is about to happen. I just hope that KK and her guys are not hurt in any way. One thing is for certain though....the adults in that town definitely DON'T seem to have the best in mind for the kids. Here's hoping Kenley and her guys make it out in one piece!

This series! It is amazing. This is a reverse harem series that is full of suspense. I can't wait for the next book. Kenley still can't let go of Rose's disappearance. Ezra, Ozzy and Finn are great guys that just wants the best for KK and to protect her at all costs. But when Kenley is still being targeted and is being stalked all hell breaks loose. This book definitely had a lot of WTH moments for me. Through all of the twists and turns I needed to know what was going to happen next. This series is full of angst, swoon worthy moments and a whole bunch of WTH just happened did I just read that correctly! I am dying for the next book in this series!!

Skipped to the end

Another series that honestly could be condensed into fewer books by cutting out the excessive repetitive scenes. If the next book talks about Finn or Kenley jumping from roof to roof or Kenley sneaking out to meet Ezra, then she just keeps writing the same scene over and over again with very little plot progression. I made it to about 30% of the way through and jumped towards the end. And the ending, the ending was good. Excellent plot progression.
It was back to being true to the plot. Overall, this one was annoying and if I hadn’t found anything interesting at the end it would have been a DNF for me.

Great twists

This series just keeps coming with great developments to keep me in the game as a reader. Is Rose still alive? What's with the Thistle Cove Twat Trio? Sooo many questions and it's obvious there's a whole lot more going on than meets the eye. Corruption, obsession, ... The powerful aren't planning on being taken down by Kenley's accusations and their actions get bolder. Some unexpected revelations made me nearly drop out of my chair. Well done Miss Lawson, well done indeed!

Better and better

Kenley, Finn, Ozzy and Ezra are still together, but something is wrong in Thistle Cove, and Kenley's former friend, Alice is now involved.
This continues the story from books one and two, as the four try to return to their own special normal, putting aside the fallout from Rose's disappearance and the events leading to Kenley being attacked.
A clever story with twists and turns which surprised me, and still the four terrific protagonists.
Onto book four. The end?

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. You will not be able to put it down until the very end. This was an amazing read and once I started, I had to finish it in one sitting, there was no stopping. It moved along at a great pace, has amazing characters that no matter what, you want to see them overcome everything in their way. The story is awesome and will keep you reading until the very end. This book needs to be on your list for 2020, no doubt about it.

Well, well, well

So I wasn't expecting that cliffhanger, nor the events leading up to it. So that was a.pleasant surprise. I was so angry during this book because of Alice and the things she was saying, like even I wanted to punch her in the face. Then with all the smug bast**d's just doing whatever they want. Ugh! So I feel like it revealed quite a bit in this one and now we r just working on the take down. Now to see the final blow out.

What the what?

So many questions were answered, but then the last couple of chapters happen. Bam! Now there is so much more to figure out. I love Angel Lawson's writing and mysteries, so this series has quickly became one of my top 10 favorite of all time. I can't wait to read the next book.

Very well written book. The story continues. Girls are not safe in Thistle cove, no one is but girls in particular. Kenley and her boys are truly amazing and I love the suspense in the series. Makes it unique and very entertaining to read. Also it keeps getting better if that is even possible. I don't want to spoil too much but this is a great book!

Meh

A bit too much of crazy but it seemed to drag on a really long time. It was at the point I was ready to stop reading. Every adult in the book all seem really Ignorant and oblivious to everything going on and yet are high profile career people Really not a fan of how Ezra treats Kenley. With all of it, not really interested in reading the next book.

Wasn’t not expecting the bomb Ezra Sr dropped on us all. Also what happened at the retreat with Alice. I thought Jason was in her bed. I really wasn’t expecting it to be Alice. I did however suspect she might be IN love with KK, not just friendly with her. Honestly still holding out hope for Rose… I thought she was dead but now? I’m not sure. I hope we get the answers we need in the next book!

Man, oh, man. Just when you think you know what’s going on there’s another curve ball thrown. I love how I can never tell what’s coming next or whose secrets will be the next to be revealed. Not only do we have mysteries swelling even more around these characters, but we get to see their relationships deepen and mature. A great series so far, and I can’t wait to see how it all wraps up!

Stupid decisions but feel accurate

I’m pretty annoyed with Kenley and all her dumb mistakes but I guess they feel true to character. Still frustrating. Alice’s whole character is obvious.

Definitely getting a little hotter, which I'm all about. The guys are like early prototypes for the Lords, haha. It's making me itch to read the Lords series again.

Overall, solid. Like I said, I'll read anything Angel writes.
