Pin-up Girl by Blake Blessing
So close. We were so close to getting free. A few more deals here. A few more nasty secrets there. All in the name of the cause of course. Then she walked in at the wrong place, wrong time. Should we kill her? Keep her? Making the right decision was critical, but we were literally at a crossroads. That’s how the top tier of Alpha Delta Omega inducted our unofficial fourth member. But we weren’t who we said we were. And danger threatened us on every corner. She should be very afraid of us. Or should we be afraid of her?

It’s no secret I’m a fan of Blake Blessing. (See here, here, here, here, here, and here for examples). But to be totally transparent, when I first heard the title for Pin-up Girl, I was feeling just a little meh about it. No real reason why, just a little meh. Then I read the blurb and thought, hmm, okay, color me intrigued.
And then I read the book.
Oh. Em. Gee.
I truly believe Ms. Blessing has totally outdone herself with this novel. I honestly can’t say enough how blown away I was by the fricken storyline, the progression, the characters–ugh, just everything about this book is so perfect! I didn’t think it could happen, but I have a new favorite Blake Blessing book. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I totally would!
Elise is the freaking epitome of sassy and confident. In a sense, she kind of comes across as a bit b*tchy, but honestly? She’s so effing cool and comfortable in her skin. She’s sarcastic and moody and she’s everything I want to be when I grow up (lol).
When the guys first see her, they think she looks like a pin-up girl (hence the title) and the nickname sticks. I–and Elise, for that matter–wasn’t sure if I would like that at first, but it’s so freaking cute and a wonderful addition to the storyline and I would totally miss it if it weren’t there.
Elise exudes self-assurance and a real zest for life with an underlying hint of hauntedness. She’s so strong and there’s so much more to her than meets the eye. Honestly, I think I need to embrace my Elise side a little more in my life. She’s awesome.
Milo, Emmet, and Jules are so sexy in such different ways. Milo is definitely the leader of the group and is arguably the most levelheaded. Emmet is the resident playboy and jokester. Jules is strong and silent–rendered mute from a young age–but he makes up for it in intelligence and strength.
Each man is incredible in his own right and they all complement Elise so well. My favorite was Jules, but only by a slight margin as Milo and Emmet are each so amazing and they’re all formidable book boyfriends in their own way. *drool*
There’s also a lot more than meets the eye to these guys and I have to admit, a few of the reveals shocked me, but in a good way. These guys have been through hell, but they’ve come out stronger and determined to pave their own ways through life without relying on their sh*tty pasts and families. Their resolve is truly admirable and just so awesome to witness.
Gosh, where do I begin with ending this review? There’s so much I want to say but I don’t want to give anything even slightly spoiler-y away, so I’m being purposely vague. I just want to say this book has catapulted as one of my favorite reads of 2020 and I’m confident in saying this is my newest favorite of Blake’s incredible writing. This book seriously took me by surprise and I couldn’t be happier with it.
I highly, highly recommend reading this book if you’re looking for something with a hint of darkness, a smidge of angst, steamy scenes that’ll make your hair curl, and a heck of a lot of twists!
As always, if you read, please come back and tell me what you think!
