Oh, Katy Regnery … the queen of fairy-tale retellings has graced us with a new contemporary romance that has the perfect amount of wit, heart, and such a delicious slow burn that by the end of the book, my blood was sizzling.

This book follows Courtney Jane Salinger, a woman who is completely over the dating game. She’s tired of going on countless dates with nothing to show for them, she’s sick of getting hurt, and having no one to come home to. All Courtney wants is a husband; someone to share her life with, someone to come home to after a long day of work, someone with whom she could fall in love. So, fed up with the dating scene, she decides to sign up for Arrange Me Too, a website where a team of specialists will find your perfect match, but there’s just one catch–the first time you meet is your wedding day. It doesn’t matter to Courtney that she won’t know who her future husband is until they get married; she trusts the experts to make the correct match and she believes it’s the first step to getting her happily ever after.

I did get frustrated with Courtney sometimes. She’s extremely stubborn and once she gets this arrangement idea in her head, she will absolutely not hear of any kind of alternative. While I can appreciate how she knows what she wants, I honestly wanted to shake her sometimes and ask her what made her think marrying a complete stranger–who could be anyone–was a better idea than trying to date a good guy. Especially when she wouldn’t listen to her friends, who were genuinely concerned for her, her determination to follow through with this plan just drove me nuts. BUT … without that determination and stubbornness, we wouldn’t have such an incredibly written story … so, I was pretty okay with overlooking how I disagreed with her philosophy so I could keep reading, lol. And please, do not let these words keep you from reading this book because despite the fact that I highly disagreed with her reasoning, it was still a fantastic read.

I am a huge fan of Katy Regnery. I love pretty much everything she writes, but I have to say that I honestly believe this is her best work yet. Normally, I wouldn’t have been super interested in the arranged marriage theme, but Katy is one of those writers who I trust to give me a good story–and she certainly did not disappoint me. I won’t give anything away because part of what’s so great about this story is how it’s all weaved together–sometimes in unexpected ways. There is a slight cliffhanger at the end of the book, so I’m quite looking forward to the next one to see what happens next 🙂

I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with a twist. I absolutely loved this read <3

Happy reading!
